Alicia has over 9 years of training in breath-centred Yoga and Yoga Therapy in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya.

“Yoga Therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalised assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management and yoga practices for individuals and small groups”
(IAYT)

Alicia’s Yoga Therapy practice provides support to clients in managing the following conditions:
-pre and post-operative hip and knee replacement and shoulder injury;
-arthritic pain;
-lower back pain;
-chronic pain;
-PTSD;
-stress;
-anxiety; and
-Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Long COVID.

The focus of Alicia’s sessions is on providing clients with personalised practices using breathwork, mindfulness and gentle movement. The practices aim to improve quality of life and optimise health and well-being of individuals, rather than providing yoga for the purpose of fitness. The practices are safe, non-invasive and complementary to a client’s existing medical care.

Below is a comment provided by one of Alicia’s clients:

“I have noticed an overall reduction in feelings of physical pain in my body. In particular my left shoulder feels less tight and my hips feel more open. I am more in tune with the areas in my body where I am holding tension and feel more able to release these areas.……..With this knowledge I have a sense of empowerment which is sometimes difficult to feel with managing PTSD symptoms. In general, I have also felt more joy, moments of connection with people and gratitude.”

Alicia can be contacted initially by email or through her website. She welcomes the opportunity to discuss how Yoga Therapy may benefit, particularly to those with the abovementioned health issues.
